About being a Panelist at the Conference:
Well it's behind me now!
No, really, I loved every minute of it- It was great!
I came to the Conference earlier to hear the key note speaker's
presentation, which was really good, and then everyone went to the
rooms of the workshops, they registered to. I was a panelist for
the first time in my life, speaking about parenting and self
advocacy, and it went just as planned. There were two other
speakers on the panel. Each of us had a different kind of
presentation, different style of speaking, and I thought it was
really wonderful to see how people with Asperger's could stand in
front of other people and talk about themselves, their families in
so many ways and with such passion...
I enjoyed myself and I think that
next time I do this, It would be even easier for me, as I do get
more practice and experience each time I speak in front of people-
I've even noticed that this time around, looking at the people
didn't make my voice tremble anymore- isn't that outstanding?!
